Make your own tiles and more — Art for the garden with Bonnie Stambaugh

In September we welcome you who would like to make your own tiles, pottery for your garden or other things you have been wanting to make, to our pop up ceramic studio in Bize-Minervois.

Artist Bonnie Stambaugh from Eugene, Oregon will spend a couple of weeks here and this makes it possible to expand our creative space with hand built pottery and hand made tiles by you. We will work with different types of stoneware and hand building techniques and we will do our best to help you create your vision.

You are welcome at least one day plus glazing over a period of two weeks so the clay can dry and be fired twice with the glazing in-between. One day/6 hours of teacher assisted work is 80 euros, paid on site. The clay will be weighed and paid for before firing to cover the cost of two firings and glaze/colour materials. We have stoneware clays, engobes and glazes in various colours to use.

What to bring: You will need an apron and a hand towel. We will supply the basic hand building tool kit.

The village has several nice restaurants and we have a kitchen to share if you want to prepare your own lunch. Coffee and tea according to the swedish Fika tradition will of course be handed out throughout the day.

You can also ask us to gaze according to your choice.
